History:

California-Remy suite was originally called "Illinois," but later changed to "Illinois-Reeves" to honor Winona Evans Reeves, even after Reeves Hall was built in 1949. It was often referred to as "IRS suite," despite the redundancy.

Illinois-Reeves was renamed for Mary Louise Remy, a former president of the International Chapter of the PEO and past chairman of the Cottey College Board of Trustees.
